Insignia Convertible 2+2 with AJ6 engine and outboard rear brakes, in really excellent condition. This is quite a rare variant, and the registration number is attractive and suitable.
The car was owned by my old friend Jerry Andrews who garaged it and used it regularly. It is superb to drive - feels and looks like new. No expense was spared in caring for it: In 2010 the sills were significantly repaired and undersealed; a new blue hood and hood-lining was fitted. The original engine was professionally rebuilt in 2013, and the front suspension was overhauled while the engine was out; cruciform front brace; all new dampers & springs were fitted; alloy wheels refurbed; new stainless exhaust system fitted.
However, because of lack of garage-space he decided to sell it to me. I have not given it much use. Added to this I have recently suffered a brain abscess and am not able to drive for at least 12 months, so my entire cars situation is under review!
The car has trip computer; Jaguar wood steering wheel; Jaguar speed control; high-quality breathable indoor/outdoor cover; piped Autolux leather seats, trim & dashboard; leather hood cover; boot spoiler; wind-breaker; boot 6-CD system; boot storage casing; original toolkit; battery isolator fitted, with trickle-charger installed.
The registration number is J11 XJS; VIN is SAJJNAFD3EJ193124; engine number is 9EPCNA192699; the mileage is 100,600; Jaguar Heritage Certificate and confirmation that it is an Insignia; it was first registered on 14th March 1994; colour is Silver Frost (MDK); it has MOT to end-May 2020.
The car has just been sold to a new owner who I hope will enjoy it for many years.
